With Sotol Blanco
INGREDIENTS
Preparation Time: 5 mins.
1.5 oz Sotol Blanco
1 oz Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica or Cocchi Vermouth di Torino work great)
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Orange Peel (for garnish)
METHOD / ALCHEMY
Prepare your mixing glass: Add fresh, clear ice—large cubes preferred to minimize dilution.
Add your spirits: Pour in the sotol blanco followed by sweet vermouth, then hit it with two generous dashes of orange bitters.
Stir, don’t rush: Give it a gentle, steady stir for about 25–30 seconds. You’re not just chilling; you’re integrating—marrying the desert soul of sotol with the urbane sweetness of vermouth.
Strain with intention: Into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe glass. The vessel matters—this is a contemplative drink.
Express your garnish: Twist a strip of fresh orange peel over the drink to release its oils. Rim the glass lightly with it before dropping it in.
Instructions
Combine the gin, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice.
Stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with an orange peel.
This gin-based variation maintains the essence of the Adonis while introducing the botanical notes of gin, resulting in a refreshing and aromatic aperitif.
